Seventh Grade was learning about Marbling by trying it out with some drawing Chalk. We used a scraping tool to drop different colored chalk on the layer of water.
We used white cardstock to do this project.
We are going to use these to cover our sketchbooks when they are dry.
Thats a cool project!! Can you explain how you did it!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great way to use up those drawing chalk colors left over. The paper I used was cardstock that was donated. You should experiment with different paper. We filled shallow trays with cool water. The trays should be clear or white. Clear trays put white paper underneath. Then just scrape the chalk with a metal tool onto the water. You can layer the color on top of one another. I told the students to stick to 3 or 4 colors. Then just put down the paper and lift on one side and put on a watercolor board to dry.
