Fractured Cubism Collage

We talked about what cubism was and looked at some work by Picasso. He liked to paint musical instruments.

The first step in our collage was to sketch a still life that included a real guitar, bottle, fruit.  The students made lines onto of their sketch to make different planes.

The sketch was redrawn on colored mat board. But the objects were fractured when they crossed a line. We used collage of music score or newspaper, chalk, paint, charcoal and sharpie to outline the guitar strings.
