Pop Art Self Portrait Collage

The Eighth/Seventh Grade elective learned to draw their self portait in correct proportion and then turned it into a pop art collage. They traced their face onto a transparency and collaged underneath for an Andy warhol type look. It was hard to take pics without picking up the reflection.

Sixth Grade Convex self portraits in a Glass Ball

Students are drawing their self portrait while looking in a Glass Christmas ball. They need to see the first perspective (themselves) as well as the second perspective. This would include the background, ceiling, lights, bookcases, other students, etc. They need to draw what they see instead what they think they see.

7/8th Printmaking class

This class is painting a "parody" of a famous masterpiece in the style of Lichtenstein. He was a Pop art painter who used alot of patterns and printing in his art.
We also began the pottery wheel today. Students are taking turns during class trying their hand at the wheel. It is harder than it looks!! So far no sucesses. I tell them the second time they will have more luck. It takes concentration and strength.
