Carving prints in Linoleum -6th grade

We started our Linoleum Print project after learning about the artist Albrecht Durer and his contribution to Prints.

Each student chose an animal they wanted to carve and included lots of texture for scales, fur and feathers.

This is the first time most had ever used the linoleum carving tools. We used bench hooks for safety and stressed carving away from ourselves.

We took turns printing our plates and did 3-4 prints to get the hang of it.

Pulling the print is the exciting part to see what it looks like.

I was so thankful to have some parents to help with the printing.
