Eighth Grade - Batik like resist with Ink and watercolor

This Project was hard to conceptualize until we were mostly finished. First step was to paint everything with white tempera paint except the areas to be black. Then we painted the whole painting with black ink and washed it off in the sink. The resisted areas stayed white so we could add pigment with watercolor.

Trish- this project is just wonderful! . How did you get the very small black lines around the objects-they add a real punch. I can just imagine trying to explain it to them----- :o)

This is the brilliant idea. You have created beautiful pictures. Really, the effect of black ink comes out fabulously.
