Impressionism with chalk and white tempera

Hidden Ink Images

We are learning different Pen and Ink techniques for shading like cross-hatching, stippling, scribbling, contour and parallel lines. Our project was to practice these different strokes. Each student glued down 3 random shapes from ink illustrations from an artist. They had to continue these strokes and make up the rest of the painting to "hide" them.

6th grade Tesselations

We learned about MC Escher and his amazing Tesselations.
Each student made a tile from a diamond shaped piece of paper with three different faces drawn.
Gluing down the 12 identical pieces was like solving a puzzle to get the heads matched up.
Come see our tesselation display in the front lobby of the school.
